Before we go . . .

. . . a brief outline of our driving vacation through the western US and an invitation to come along.

This trip has been a long time in the planning. It was postponed the first time when the Looney took a dive against the US dollar and the second time exactly a year ago due to illness.

But, now the dollar is strong and so am I, passports are current, the car has had its checkup, medical insurance is in place. Even the TripTik that BCAA organized for us last year is still relevant. So, on Monday, September 13th, give or take a day (it's a road trip, after all; the only schedule we have to follow is our own) we will set out to visit and discover, among other things, possibly the most sinful place in the US, one of the holiest places in North America, and the "Happiest Place on Earth". We will cross 7 states, 2 mountain ranges and 2 deserts, view 2 (or maybe 3) canyons and skirt 2500 kilometers of coastline. These are our plans at least but the beauty of a road trip is that plans can be changed on a whim. We can add or subtract as our enjoyment of each place suggests.
